G-Shocks, P & M pick up mercy wins

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31:

C Division

Pitches At 17, Black Magic 15
Black Magic tried to stage a seventh inning comeback but fell short as a base running blunder saw a runner cut down at the plate.
Matt Jette was 4-4 and drove in three runs for Black Magic while teammate Carlos Lima was 2-4 from the leadoff spot and Karl De-allie was 2-4 batting cleanup.
Where My Pitches At did all their scoring late as they plated seven in the fifth inning, five in the sixth and four in the final frame.
Troy Pitcher had a three-run homer for the winners while Mike Mavrinack was 3-4 and Mike Carter (2-5) drove in five runs.

G-Shocks 18, Corporation of Hamilton 3
Flanagan’s G-Shocks scored 10 runs in the fourth inning to break open this contest. Tracey Bean (2-4) had a double and a homer as he plated five runs for the victors. Zina Jones (2-4) and Sarah Robinson (2-3) got the ball rolling from the top of the lineup while Paulo Arruda (2-4) homered in the win.
Billy Brooks (2-3) was the only Corporation of Hamilton batter to get more than two hits.

Co-ed 5 n 5

Beach Riptide 18, PCS Panthers 15
The Beach scored 10 in the first and six in the second before coasting to the win. Gus Sanchez (3-4), Scott Campbell (3-4) and Don Burgess (3-3) sparked the Beach to the victory.
Tracey Bean (4-5) was a one-man speed machine for PCS with two inside the park home runs. Jason Ming (2-4) had a grand slam for PCS.

P & M 22, BF&M 6
This game ended early because of the mercy rule as P&M scored consistently every inning.
Leadoff man John Ray was 3-5 while Terence Corday (2-4) hit a first run homer for P&M. Sarah Mentzel (4-4) was perfect at the plate in the triumph while Jon Gazard was 3-4 and Lovintz Tota homered.
Mike Murdock Smith (2-3) clubbed a three-run shot for BF&M while Carol Otto (2-3) and Brian Hall (2-4) had two hits each.
