Free basketball clinics
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 18: If you have a child who loves basketball, Sandys 360 is hosting a series of free clinics over the next eight weeks.
The clinics start on January 21
John Barry Nusum, Sandys 360 Sports, Aquatic & Enrichment Centre sports director and former professional footballer, said: “Our aim is to develop the necessary fundamental skills of the sport, encouraging lifelong participation.”
The clinics will run every Saturday from 3pm to 4:30pm for youth ages five to 15.
It will cover fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. Dr Melvyn Bassett, Sandys 360 managing director, said: “Basketball is a great team sport, and will encourage our youth to develop team building, and communication skills that are vital to healthy growth and development.
“This is a fantastic initiative and we congratulate Mr Nusum on his vision.”
Sandys 360 has a FIBA regulated Basketball court with newly refinished floors.
The floor is also marked for volleyball, netball, and badminton.
