TUESDAY, MAY 31: Nelda Simons, Regional Director of Human Resources for Fairmont today announces the promotion of Bermudian Peter Kyle to the post of Fairmont Gold Manager.  In this new role, Mr. Kyle will oversee the daily operation of the team at the Fairmont Southampton’s luxurious Gold Floor, focusing on service excellence and providing personalized attention to each guest residing on that floor of the hotel.

Regional Director of Human Resources Nelda Simons said, “Over the past three years, Peter Kyle has taken advantage of a tremendous opportunity and has consistently exceeded expectations, delivered on high standards of service and displayed quality leadership skills.  We are pleased to see a young, talented Bermudian rise through the ranks of the Fairmont Southampton through discipline, hard work and commitment.”

Peter Kyle joined the hotel in November 2008 as part of Fairmont’s Leadership Development Program, an 18 month course designed to develop leadership skills and a developmental career path for individuals who graduate from the program to become Executive Committee members within five years and General Managers within ten years.  In April 2010, he was appointed to the post of Assistant Executive Housekeeper.

Mr. Kyle graduated with honors from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland and holds a degree in Hotel Hospitality Management and Tourism.

Wesley Tucker

Jamahl Simmons, Director of Public Relations at the Fairmont Southampton today announces the promotion of Bermudian Wesley Tucker to the position of Assistant Maitre D at the hotel’s Jasmine Lounge.

As Assistant Maitre D, Wesley Tucker will play a key role in ensuring a seamless service experience to more than 100,000 guests per year that generate more than $3.5 million dollars in revenue annually. Supporting a team of 20 colleagues, Mr. Tucker will be responsible for their initial and ongoing training and development.  He will further be expected to spend time tableside interacting with guests to understand, anticipate and exceed their needs.

“Mr. Tucker exemplifies the work ethic, perseverance and impeccable customer service that make a visit to Bermuda and a stay at the Fairmont Southampton memorable.  In his new role as Assistant Maitre D at the Jasmine Lounge, Mr. Tucker will undoubtedly make a substantial contribution to what is quickly becoming known as one of Bermuda’s most elegant and luxurious cocktail lounges.”

Wesley Tucker brings over half a decade of experience in the tourism industry to the position of Assistant Maitre D at the Jasmine Lounge having served in various capacities at the Reefs, the Stonington Beach Hotel and Greg’s Steakhouse. 

Mr. Tucker holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computer Science from Framingham State University in Massachusetts.
