Ever wondered about life in the Caribbean?
The first of these channels is HYPE TV, a Caribbean 24-hour entertainment channel which first aired in 1999 and has seen a growing audience ever since.
HYPE TV offers 100 per cent original programming from the Caribbean, connecting viewers to the people, culture, music and lifestyle of this region of the world.
Programming on HYPE TV covers everything from fashion to music and beyond. For example, Style 360, hosted by former Miss Jamaica Universe Saphire Longmore, takes viewers into the ever-changing world of fashion, offering a behind-the-scenes look at industry players and delivering up-close and personal interviews and features with models, designers, agents and retailers. Style 360 is a bit like a front seat ticket to the latest in runway fashion.
With a focus on entertainment, Best of Hype is a one-hour weekly summary programme covering what happened during the last seven days, including music hits, interviews with leading artists, and highlights from Hype events. At the end of the week, it’s a great way to catch everything you might have missed in the Caribbean entertainment world. Another popular programme is Hype Video Countdown, which takes a look at the hottest music videos from the Caribbean. Surprise guests who join the show each week keep viewers wondering what’s going to happen and who’s going to show up.
In another genre altogether, WealthTV is a lifestyle and entertainment network designed to appeal to a broad audience, while holding special appeal to high income earners. Launched on June 1, 2004, WealthTV delivers informative shows that let ordinary people see inside the extraordinary world of the very rich, taking viewers on a journey of how wealth is achieved, used and enjoyed. From travel secrets to expensive cars, and from better etiquette to better investing, you can watch it on WealthTV.
WealthTV programmes include: Wealth on Health, an in-depth series on the latest medical breakthroughs; Giving Back, a series which highlights philanthropy at its best; Empire’s New Clothes, a programme showcasing today’s Russia; Etiquette 101, a show that explores the unwritten rules for professional and social etiquette faced in everyday life; and The Ray Lucia Show, a programme addressing issues affecting your financial future hosted by Ray Lucia, a nationally renowned expert in financial and business management.
