Bermuda Island Games secretary Jon Gazzard said there was no cause for concern in the lack of medals yesterday.
"A lot of the events are contingent on going the entire week so like our sailors have their medals at the end of the week.
"The only events we had a chance for medals was in swimming and track and field. That's what happens when we're missing people competing from various sports.
"A lot of the medal haul for us usually has been with the gymnasts and then a big haul at the end of the week when the team events and the individual tournaments finish."
The gymnasts start their individual events today and it wouldn't be unreasonable to see the island pull off a sweep in at least one of the disciplines based on the team scores.
After one round of golf Bermuda is in pole position to win the gold medal. Jarryd Dillas shot a first round 71 to be tied atop the leaderboard along with Lukas Eriksson from Aland.
Bermuda's Daniel Augustus and Damian Palanyandi were joint sixth by shooting a 73 while Camiko Smith was just one stroke back in the 79-strong field.
Bermuda is also set to win gold in team sailing and all four sailors are within striking distance to place on the podium in the individal events.[[In-content Ad]]
