Dear Sir,

I just read Rolfe Commissiong's opinion piece in your paper - yawn. Pardon me, Mr. Editor, but I find his comments untrue and boring.

They should do a poll about how we feel about this Government's spending of our money, not building affordable housing, education in a right mess, the issuing of SDOs whenever and wherever they want, firing people who speak their minds, even though we are supposed to have freedom of speech in this country, traffic being way out of hand and so on.

I wonder what the poll would show then?

The UBP brought about and kept stabilization in this country. The UBP built many affordable houses for people.

The UBP has never fired anyone for freedom of speech, ex-pat or not.

The UBP did not issue massive numbers of SDOs during their ruling years.

They were accountable for the money they spent. You didn't see them all buying new cars as soon as they became the Government.

You didn't see them taking giant pay rises as soon as they became the Government.

The UBP should go on and if it does it will again become strong.

There are still some who do not believe this current Government has our best interests at heart.

Just look around you - this Government's spending is way out of control - that's why they have to borrow an additional $84 Million dollars.

What a good lesson to teach our children, who already have their priorities wrong, to live beyond their means.

In my opinion this Government wants to keep the 'haves-nots' where they are - and let the 'haves' have more.

That's why they're closing the clinic. They now want the 'have-nots' to spend money on obtaining HIP insurance, so that they can visit any doctor they wish.

It's only making the doctors richer and who is the doctor in charge?

Dr. Brown, the Premier. Why don't you leave the poor and homeless where they want to be, Dr. Brown?

Why don't you leave the clinic where it is, so that these misfortunate people can stay if they wish? Why don't you try and help instead of hindering?

They need help with affording their medications, so you gave them an additional $50 each - that's really helping, wouldn't you say?

We can conduct as many polls as we like - the fact is that this Government over-spends our money. They do not plan and have no plan for our future. They spend as they see fit and it's got to stop.

Bring back a party that is: honest; hard-working; answers questions even if they are 'plantation' ones; watches out for the people of Bermuda; has a plan and works the plan; does not kick out people because they have an opinion; spends our money wisely; eases up on utilizing open spaces and just cares.

This party is the UBP - I'm certain of it.

The UBP party has good guys working for the people.

There are a few who have said things about the party being ruled by an elite white group.

Well, if you believe that, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.
