Co-ed flag rugby to start
Each team is required to have a minimum of two women on the pitch. Women get two points for a try, whereas men get one.
Flag rugby is a non contact version of the sport, similar to touch-rugby. The league continues through June 27.
The defending champs are PMC Maintenance/Teachers squad who beat Dirty SAFA's in the final of last year's competition, which attracted 12 teams.
Mike Montgomery, of the league, said: "The game does not require the players to have previous rugby experience to join.
"With the switch to flag rugby, the hope is to attract more participants and particularly to challenge the local flag American football players to enter a team for fun as the games are similar."
