The world boxing champ is one of a host of local celebs lining up for a charity cricket-match later this month.
Sports Minister Glenn Blakeney, who will bat alongside his son in the match, radio personality Thaao Dill, runner Jay Donawa, Governor Sir Richard Gozney and U.S. Counsel General Gregory Slayton are all donning their pads for the cricket festival, planned for May 31 at the National Sports Centre.
National coach Gus Logie, charismatic spinner Dwayne 'Sluggo' Leverock, Lionel Cann and Bermuda skipper Irving Romaine are among the cricketers who will be involved, though they will be required to bat with their 'wrong' hand - i.e. lefthanders are to bat righthanded and vice versa.
Perozzi admitted she had never played the game before.
But her son Micah, one of Bermuda's top juniors, is giving her a crash course in the run up to the tournament.
"I've been an avid follower of his games for the last few years. He's trying to teach me a few things. My bowling is hopeless but I'm working on my batting."
The 24-strong celeb team will come up against an Under-11 All-Star team.
Each pair bats for two over's with two runs deducted every time a wicket falls in the fun-format developed for the light hearted event.
The match will start at 1pm, to be followed by an Under-11 All-Star match at 3pm and is sponsored by Hiscox, which is also the title sponsor of the Under 11 league.
There will also be a fun castle, fun slide, face painting, raffle and a free lunch token and t-shirt for those who visit the BCB office on 9 Gorham Road, Hamilton prior to the event.[[In-content Ad]]
