Caribbean test for riders
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4: This Saturday, Bermuda’s dressage riders will be competing in the CEA Dressage Challenge at the National Equestrian Centre at Vesey Street in Devonshire. Bermuda will be competing against riders from Jamaica, Cayman, Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago with the judge, Susan Kolstad of the US.
All competitors ride the same set of tests.
The Bermuda team of four riders is hoping that they can repeat on their result in February of this year where Bermuda edged out Trinidad to win the FEI World Dressage Challenge for the second year in a row.
Bermuda has a strong field of horses and riders with Suzette Sailsman/Wiriana and Dawn Fox/ Lancelot competing in the Advanced Test; Sasha Kane/Just for Kicks, Cindy Redford/24 Carrot, Samantha Armano/Heart of Gold and Vicki Steele/Sun Kissed competing in the Preliminary Test.
In the Preliminary Test are Sasha Kane/Just for Kicks, Rebecca Carne/Limited Edition, Michael Rodrigues/Southern Eclipse and Vicki Steele/Sun Kissed.
In the Medium Test is Michael Rodrigues/Sun Kissed and competing at Prix St. Georges Paul George/Wiriana.
Ashley Gibbs/Landtango will be competing in the Elementary test in the 16 year & under division.
A team of four will be selected from these competitors after the vet check on the morning of the competition. During the vet check, each horse is examined to ensure they are fit to compete.
The day starts with the vet check followed by the first test at 10:30am.
