Caribbean test for dressage riders
FRIDAY, NOV. 09: Bermuda is up against Barbados, Cayman, Jamaica and Trinidad& Tobago in the Caribbean Equestrian Association’s Dressage Challenge.
Bermuda’s riders will saddle up on Saturday at the National Equestrian Centre to be judged by American Ann Forer.
Bermuda will have a children’s team and an adult team, which will comprise the three highest scores from the competition. Bermuda’s riders classified as Children will need to average over 69.6 per cent to beat Cayman who currently hold the lead with a total of 208.621 per cent while the Adult riders will need to average over 67.2 per cent to edge out Barbados who currently have a score of 201.379 per cent.
Bermuda has a strong field of horses and riders and is well prepared to take on the challenge having hosted world renowned trainer Tom Poulin from the US for clinics this past weekend.
The action starts at 10am.
The island will be represented by Paula George on Wiriana in the Prix St Georges class; Dawn Fox and Lancelot at Intermediate I; the Preliminary Adult test will have Erin Smith and Project Runway, Jackie Scott and Scooby Doo, Debra McCraken and The Patriot, Cindy Redford and 24 Carrot, Shelley Lewis and Kir Royale and Erin Smith Klearly and King.
The Elementary Adult test will have Ashley Gibbs and Landtango, Debra McCraken and The Patriot and Jackie Scott and Scooby Doo.
The Advanced test will be ridden by Suzette Sailsman and Wiriana; the Medium test will have Ashley Gibbs and Landtango; the Preliminary test for children will have Zoë Oleksak and Limited Edition, Nina Wehmeyer and Rumorhazit, Hannah Simmons and Maximu, Courtney Bromby and Jack Frost; First Level Test 1 for children will be ridden by Zoë Oleksakand Limited Edition.
