BTC dials up opening win

BTC had a clear line to move to the top of Commercial Bowling League. BTC rolled a team handicap score of 2,320 as it beat Double Trouble 4-0.

Alvin Outerbridge barely missed out on rolling the league’s first 200 when he came up two pins shy. Wayne Raynor had a 190 while John Adams’ 182 was the third high men’s score.

Earleen DeSilva was the top woman with a 190. Carla Clarke (174) and Shay Ford (173) also made the honours list.

Dee Craft had the high handicap series with a 631 with Clarke (613) and DeSilva (609) second and third respectively.

Hewvonnie Brown’s 601 was good enough to best the rest of the men.

Scores: BTC 4, Double Trouble 0; King Pins 3, Do It Best 1; Sunset 3, Sweet Life 1; Royal Gazette 3, Spinners 1; Strikers 3, D.C Braves 1.

Fishbowl League

Barracuda gained a share of the lead with a 4-0 win over Mackerel. Porgies and Barracuda are now both 7-1.

National team bowler Patrice Tucker rolled a 222 to lead all women. Vernell Harvey had a 171 with four women tied for third at 169.

Harvey did take high handicap series honours with a 650 with Tucker at 638 and June Simons third at 630 and former world champ Joan Hollis just missing the top three with a 619.

Carlos Estravit edged Malcolm Santucci by one pin (641 to 640) to take the high handicap series among the men. Alpheaus Santucci had a 633 with Brian Simmons at 629.
