FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25: Hundreds of Bermudians hit the shops today for Black Friday sales.
Shoppers lined up as early at 2:30am outside of Phoenix and Brown & Co to catch deals of up to 40 per cent off.
This is the second year that stores on the island have launched Black Friday themed sales, following the US retail tradition, which takes place the day after Thanksgiving.
In Hamilton, some stores opened their doors at 5:30am. Telecommunications stores CellOne and Digicel also opened early for sales, with CellOne handing out food to customers.
There were also deals at Gorham’s today, courtesy of bermuda.com — a sister company of the Bermuda Sun.
The hardware and household stores offered discounts of up to 50 per cent.
Gibbon’s Company offered 40 per cent off many items in its kitchen section, plus discounts throughout the store.
Today also kicked of Charities Friday where shoppers can donate $5 to the charity of the week and get 20 per cent off goods.
Tonight, shoppers will be able to shop until 9pm as late night shopping starts in the City of Hamilton.
On Wednesday, bermuda.com begins its 12 days of Christmas retail promotion.
