Bill's a spoilsport as matches are cancelled
As a consequence the BCB cancelled Monday's twenty20 match and replaced it with a One-day match that will start at 2pm at the National Sports Centre.
After Bermuda lost the four-day Intercontinental Shield match to Uganda by seven wickets on Thursday, the squad was looking forward to getting back on the pitch and putting up a positive result.
Now the team has to wait until Monday to get its only chance for a win.
David Hemp and Stephen Outerbridge made their debut as the team's captain and vice-captain respectively.
Both were disappointed at losing a one day game and the twenty20 match.
"We obviously don't get a lot of international cricket at the moment anyway, so to get games cancelled is always frustrating," Hemp said.
"We want to see players play and get the experience that players can gain from playing and unfortunately now they're not going to be able to get a couple of extra games in."
Outerbridge added: "We don't play much here so all the players were looking forward to playing at home. At the end of the day when you lose games because of the weather - Hurricane Bill - everyone is disappointed. We'll just have to look forward to Monday's match." n
team leaders' praise: Bermuda's young players 'gave good effort'.
