Bike racers to train in the U.S.
The eight youngsters will also get a taste of international competition, taking part in a 'Bermuda invitational' race against US riders at the Grange Motor Circuit in Los Angeles.
The youngsters - Shae Darrell, Jazari Caisey, Taznae Fubler, Hailey Place, Khyren Wilson, Jeneko Place, Bruce Degrilla Jr. and Cody Sousa-Saints - flew out yesterday.
Coach Cyril Whitter, of the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club which set up the trip, said the aim was to help the young riders improve. "My goal for the trip is to get them a taste of international competition and experience of a track outside of Bermuda and give them a more diverse appreciation of motorsports as a whole."
He said the Bermuda club had arranged a link-up with the M1 GP Association in California which would be putting on the training school specifically for the Bermuda riders."
The Bermudian riders will get training from the M1 GP crew over the three days before the weekend concludes with two 50cc races on Sunday.[[In-content Ad]]
