Big names change cricket teams
Pace man Ryan Steede and spinner Rodney Trott heading to the east end to play for St George's. Lionel Cann returning to skipper St David's.
Talented Western Stars trio Hasan Durham, Jekon Edness and Jermaine Postlethwaite turning out for Somereset.
The World Cup may be over but there is plenty to get excited about as the domestic cricket season approaches.
There's been frenetic transfer activity in the off-season with a string of high profile transfers rumoured ahead of the Bermuda Cricket Board deadline.
The board has yet to release its official list but the Bermuda Sun understands that all the transfers listed above will be on there.
The biggest loser appears to be Western Stars, which has been shorn of all its international stars, having also seen Saleem Mukuddem move to Leg Trappers.
Somerset should be much stronger for the addition of the Stars trio, while newly promoted St George's have significantly bolstered their bowling attack.
Champions Southampton Rangers have stuck with a winning formula, keeping roughly the same squad as last season.
Cann has left, but other than that the bulk of the multiple trophy winning squad is still intact.
Newly appointed player-coach Janeiro Tucker is still waiting to hear if a couple of additional youngsters, including Warwick's Chris Douglas, could join his squad.
But he said he was happy with what he had and confident of retaining the title.
St. David's skipper Lionel Cann said he didn't plan to make it easy for his former team-mates though.
The islanders are in training three times a week ahead of the season kick-off in May.
And Cann, who cites 13-year-old Shay Pitcher jnr and his own son Diego McCallan, 16, as two youngsters to watch this season, said he expected it to be a close run thing with Somerset and Social Club also looking good. He also warned the league to watch out for George O'Brien with the fast bowler determined to prove a point and force his way back into the national plans.
"It's going to be an exciting season," said Cann. "I don't think anybody's going to run away with it."[[In-content Ad]]
