BEST wins D Division playoffs
The game was fairly close through five innings as BEST was up 12 to 6, but a 10-run sixth inning helped them hoist the championship.
Shortstop Jevaine Fubler led the way by going 5-5 while pitcher Scott Doughty aided his own cause by going 4-5.
Olympia got a good effort from centrefielder Peter Liabotis (3-4), pitcher Jeff Jane (3-4) and Ervilene Outerbridge (2-3)
Men's consolation
Frontier was on the verge of losing the Men's Plate final before a 14-run outburst saved them. They were trailing Island Construction, who was leading the series 1-0, 11 to 3. Nyon Steede (11 RBI) hit the first of his two grand slams in sixth and Paul DeCouto added a two-run blast for Frontier.
Mark Pacheco, Aaron Madeiros and Matt Durrant all hit homers for Island Construction.[[In-content Ad]]
