Bermuda names squad for Americas' Championship
Crowd favourite Blakeney told the Bermuda Sun last week that he was making a comeback after four years in the international wilderness.
And his return to favour was confirmed with the announcement of the squad to defend the title Bermuda won in Canada two years ago.
Skipper Irving Romaine and the five youngsters currently at the Aussie academy were included in the squad for the event which begins on November 25.
But there was no place for Chris Foggo, who hasn't featured for Bermuda since his conviction for cannabis possession in August.
Gus Logie, National Coach stated: "This team was selected was based on availability, fitness and attendance at training to date.
"I have every confidence that we can compete at the highest level with this squad.
"The reserves and other squad members are encouraged to make themselves available for training because there are several tours earmarked for the future, especially in the run up to the World Cup Qualifiers in South Africa, April 2009."
