Ball's grand slam not enough to save Frontier Flyers

E&Y won their fifth straight game to clinch a playoff spot, edging Frontier by 8-7 with the winning run crossing in the final inning. Dion Ball put the crowd into a frenzy with a fourth inning grand slam, much to the cheers of his awestruck teammates. E&Y went ahead after Jon Gazzard tripled to drive in two runs in the seventh, before Frontier tied the game in the eighth inning. Chris Larkin ended the game with a run-scoring single in the ninth.

Island 6, Tuff Dogs 4

Island Construction ended a perfect season for Tuff Dogs, taking a narrow 6-4 decision and securing a second place finish in the process. Jay Simons knocked in two runs in a key sixth inning to make the difference. Justin Barritt collected three hits for Tuff Dogs.

Island 10, Hit n Sit 6

Island Construction kept the momentum rolling with a 10-6 victory over Hit n Sit. Steven Simons homered and added a two-run triple, while McLaren Lowe doubled twice in the win. Matthew O'Connell provided all the fireworks in the loss, cracking three homeruns to drive in five runs.

Tuff Dogs 12, AF Smith 2

Tuff Dogs rebounded with a 12-2 win over AF Smith, opening with seven runs and coasting to victory. Kevin Taylor tripled to drive in two runs. Chris McLean chipped in three hits for AF Smith.

Arctic 21, BISYS 13

Arctic Airconditioning found the win column, using an eleven run outburst in the opening frame to spark a 21-13 win over BISYS. Every batter for Arctic drove in at least one run, led by team captain Tina Rowse. Sebastien Huet doubled and tripled to drive in three runs for BISYS.

BEST 20, Olympia 11

BEST Shipping remained undefeated, scoring seven times in the fifth inning to hold out against Olympia for a 20-11 final. Andre Trott homered and drove in four, while Paulo Arruda added four hits to the attack. Pat Reardon hit a grand slam and drove in seven runs in the loss.

BEST 20, Killer Goldfish 5

BEST Shipping followed up with a 20-5 pounding of Killer Goldfish. Mark Grant and Jevanie Fubler each knocked in two for BEST. Greg Bell doubled in two runs for the Goldfish.

Argus 17, LOM 12

Argus overcame a seven run second inning to steal a 17-12 victory from LOM Bombers. Tory Richard hit a three-run homerun, and Larry Peck brought in five runs for Argus. Mark Stevens drove in four runs for LOM, who could not hold on to the large lead built up early in the game.

Arch 12, Aspen 6

Arch scored seven runs in the fifth inning to defeat Aspen by 12-6. Jim Ansaldi drove in two runs for Arch, and Matt Smith added four hits. Vic Baillargeon collected three hits and drove in a run for Aspen.

P&M 22, Eacy Grlz 14

P&M Electri-Cute are still hovering around the top of the Ladies Division after dropping Eacy Grlz by 22-14. Tiffany Dawson and Tina Robson both tripled to lead P&M. Tawana Lee had four hits for the Grlz.

Eacy Grlz 3, International Stars 17

Eacy Grlz lost the second game of a doubleheader, falling 17-3 to International Stars. Alicia Hancock drove in all three runs for the Grlz. Duan Smith hit for the cycle and Rose Sanders drove in four runs for the Stars.
