There were no real shocks as Bermuda announced its squad for the upcoming Americas Championship being hosted on the island. David Hemp and Stephen Outerbridge will lead the team as captain and vice-captain.
The Championship takes place in Bermuda from May 28 through June followed 4 by a 20/20 Tournament on the weekend of the June 4-6. Bermuda, USA, Canada, Cayman Islands, Argentina and Bahamas will compete in the eleven-day tournament.
David Moore, national coach said: "Combining the performances in Namibia, observing games since my arrival and players performance at practice, I believe that we have come up with best available team to perform well in the Americas tournament. All the players in the squad are very talented individuals and it is hoped that they can combine well to perform at their best for their country."
He added: "There are a number of players that have missed out on this series that are not far from selection and I encourage those players to perform well in Club cricket, practice hard and put their name forward for future selection. I maintain my thoughts that there are some very talented cricketers on the Island and if our players commit themselves to playing and working hard then there can be a resurgence from Bermuda cricket at the international level."
