Amazed at rude and uncharitable driver
I and one other member of The Bermuda Inline Skating Club along with a large contingent of walkers had the pleasure to be out on South Shore Road on Saturday July 8.
We were out in support of The Sunshine League Children's Home during their annual charity Moonlight Walk, and what a pleasure it was to see so many people from every cross section of the community out in support of this event. Well done!
As a club we take time out of our busy schedules to go out in support of such charities and encourage others to do so as well. Unfortunately, the evening for us was marred by an extremely rude, very well known, middle-aged lady driving a small white car, her name I won't mention out of respect for her.
But we were flabbergasted when we were bombarded by her very loud and obnoxious self shouting that: "You should move over and get out of my way".
I do apologize for the response that she received from me by the way.
I wonder if she would have performed in the same impatient obnoxious manner if we'd had our young members out skating with us? I am sure that would have set a perfect example for them to emulate!
I guess that individuals like her would much rather that we sit around in her neighbourhood trying to figure out how to break into her home instead of blocking her way for all of about 60 seconds, in aid of a local children charity. That's our future by the way.
Let's set a better example. Maybe she could take a moment out of her obviously very busy schedule to make a donation to The Sunshine League Children's Home.
We believe that would be apology enough if you feel you need to do so. You know who you are.
