Allah will guide us on to a straight path
FRIDAY, JAN. 6: The holidays are over, the New Year is here.
We now have to buckle down and get serious about the direction we as a people on our island home will take to reach the path of success and prosperity for ALL.
Yes, for All, because should we continue to think in the singular, we are heading for trouble of a magnitude never before seen in Bermuda.
Our selfish ‘me’ thinking has caused us the consequences we reap today.
The consequences of desperate people lurking and praying on those they perceive to be in a less desperate situation.
Who would have thought even five years ago that Bermuda would be experiencing the types of crimes we now see occurring on a constant almost-daily basis.
What went wrong? That answer we may never for sure know.
We can blame it on a multitude of things. We must know what caused the ills we have today, so that in the future we can avoid making the same mistakes.
But most importantly we must dwell on how to fix or amend the path of destruction we are presently on.
What can we do? You and I, what can we do? Shall we leave it to the Government?
Consequences
Shall we leave the entire remedy to the parents to find, teachers or the police?
Who shall fix these humongous problems facing us today?
Some of us don’t want to talk about turning to God — oh they call that ‘religious crap’.
However, I would beg to know what solutions those that think that turning to God as ‘religious crap’ have to offer. Perhaps they will say yoga, or vodka or both.
Men’s disbelief in God and the tenets of God has resulted in greed, injustice, murder, destruction and degradation in the world and to mankind. What will be the consequence?
Allah in the noble Quran says this in Sura 30:8-9
Do they not reflect in their own minds? Not but for just ends and for a term appointed, did Allah create the heavens and the earth, and all between them: Yet are there truly many among men who deny the meeting with their Lord (at the Resurrection!).
Do they not travel through the earth, and see what the end of those before them was?
They were superior to them in strength: They tilled the soil and populated it in greater numbers than these have done: There came to them their apostles with Clear (signs). (Which they rejected, to their own destruction): It was not Allah (God) who wronged them, but they wronged their own souls.
I am reminded of the verse from Psalms 121:2
My help comes from the Lord, who made Heaven and Earth.
Allah, God helps people out of the hands of their enemies, and out of all their troubles and afflictions, but we must follow His guidance and commands to receive the help.
The Quran says: “The signs are there for those whom reflect.”
Bermuda, if we truly want answers let us reflect on the signs of the times and times before us, let us examine the consequences we have wrought from our actions, and if we like what we have incurred, let us continue on our consequential path.
However if we don’t like the consequences, do we have the courage and wisdom to make the change before it’s too late?
And those who say this is ‘religious crap’ let them offer their help or shut their non-religious trap.We need direction and only God can direct our paths.
Yunus 10:25
And know that Allah invites people unto the abode of peace, and guides him that wills to be guided onto a straight way.
