THURSDAY, APRIL 19: The first day of the Annual Exhibition saw beautiful weather with dozens of children and seniors filling the Botanical Gardens.

And this year, all the entertainment is homegrown with singers, dancers, a Zumba demonstration, a drumline and much more.

Acting Premier Derrick Burgess said: “I hope everyone who attends the show during these next three days will embrace the theme of Agriculture – Past, Present and Future.

“We can all do our part to support local agriculture, grow a few vegetables of our own and enjoy the health benefits of eating more fresh produce.

“I am also very happy that we have all local entertainment this year as our community has so much talent.

“From singers and dancers, to drummers and performance artists.

“There is something for everyone this year.

“All local, and all talent.”

And Public Works Minister Michael Weeks added: “Thank you also to everyone else involved in making the show a success - the charities and volunteers who run food stands, the Bermuda Police Service, St. John’s Ambulance and of course, the exhibitors and participants.

“Without the thousands of people participating in everything from baked goods to horse jumping, we simply wouldn’t have a show.”

In addition to the performances, there are the usual livestock entries, flowers, baked goods, horses, face painting, endless food stands and more.

The show continues tomorrow and Saturday.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 16 and seniors while children under five are free.
