The event, also known as the Ag Show, starts tomorrow and runs through to Saturday at the Botanical Gardens.
The Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show — an action-packed event featuring chain sawing, ‘hot saw’ racing and the famous log-rolling dogs — is likely to be one of the main draws.
The team appeared on hit NBC show America’s Got Talent and made it through to the top 35.
Lee LeCaptain, the owner of the travelling show, said he was looking forward to entertaining Bermudians.
Humorous
He said: “It is a really famous show. It’s played all over the world, China, USA, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.
“We did very well on America’s Got Talent.
“We were one of the favourites to win the whole thing.
“But what happened was we had two people who weren’t living in the US so we couldn’t move on.”
As for what people can expect, the lumberjack said: “They are going to see fast action with log-rolling dogs.
“This is the first time ever there is going to be two dogs rolling against each other.”
The aim of the event, which features dogs rolling logs across a pool of water, is for the canine competitors to knock each other off.
Mr LeCaptain said: “It’s for the entire family. It’s a very humorous show and it’s filled with audience participation as far as cheering and we get them involved in the show.
“People will laugh so hard they will split a gut.
“There are six members of the show, five lumberjacks.”
As far as what will be customized to Bermuda, Mr LeCaptain said: “There’s never been two log-rolling dogs ever in a show.
“This is the first of its kind.”
He continued: “The one dog Sandy has been a star on Animal Planet.
“The show has been featured on TV all over the world. We have been doing shows for 40 years now. We have reached over one billion people.”
The Annual Exhibition opens at 8am everyday until 6pm.
In addition to the lumberjacks, there will be tug-of-war, equestrian events, floral arrangements, Bermuda kites, livestock, live entertainment, puppet shows, food stalls, face painting and craft vendors.
The cost for adults is $10, seniors are $5 and children aged four to 16 are $5.
The annual event is organized by the Department of Parks.[[In-content Ad]]
