The Ministry of Public Works is carrying out work to improve the surface water drainage from Tribe Road 4b as it enters Elbow Beach. This work will help to reduce incidences of sand that is adjacent to the public access being washed away, especially during heavy rain down pours.
The drainage work consists of the construction of a very large soak away pit which will be filled with boulders. The boulders will help to reduce the speed of the water to ensure that it enters the pit rather than flow over it.
At the same time the Ministry is also carrying out some improvements to the steps.
It is expected that works will take approximately four weeks to complete.
