Siese emerges victorious after three-way laser fight

Owen Siese won the 2013 Bermuda Laser Radial Nationals after a tight finish on the Great Sound at the weekend.

Siese finished the regatta level on 22 points with Ben Smith and Ceci Wollmann.

However, he was crowned champion on countback, courtesy of his three first place finishes.

Smith ended the eight-race event in second with two wins, while Ceci Wollmann was third with one.

Brett Wright was in fourth with 23 points, while Nathan Bailey came in fifth with 35 points.

There were 16 sailors competing, with competitors allowed to discard one result of their eight races.
