A British woman was today remanded into custody after she was charged with importing $60,000 of cannabis.

Lauren Davis pleaded not guilty to importing cannabis resin into Bermuda on November 14.

She also denied possession of the drug in St Georges with intent to supply on the same date.

Crown counsel Takiyah Burgess told the court the amount of drugs is 608.81 grams, worth $60,850 in Bermuda.

The court also heard Ms Davis is a hair stylist and worked at Strands until this incident.

The matter was adjourned to January 8 and Ms Davis was remanded in custody.
