Bravo seems to be the home of the best reality TV shows and Shahs of Sunset is no exception. The show follows the glitz and glam of six Persian-Americans who live in LA. It is over the top but extremely addictive.
Shahs of Sunset stars Reza Faraham, Golnesa ‘GG’ Gharachedaghi, Asa Soltan Rahmati, Mike Shouhed, Mercedes ‘MJ’ Javid and Lilly Ghalichi.
Reza is a real estate agent of high end residential properties. He is gay, something his Persian family doesn’t accept.
Reza is as fabulous as is gets and is best friends with MJ. She is loud mouthed and hilarious but seems a bit insecure, possibly due to her weight.
GG is loud, rude and quick to fight. She is the wealthiest of them all but doesn’t work, relying on her father to support her lifestyle until she can find a man who will.
Asa is in her own world, literally by making diamond water. She comes from a humble background and isn’t wealthy like the rest of the cast.
Mike is the hot guy of the show and comes from a commercial real estate background in Las Vegas. He and Reza recently became business partners.
Lily is the Persian Barbie with enormous breasts and huge, Texas-style hair. She allegedly went to law school but it remains to be seen if she is a lawyer as she is superficial and only cares about her appearance.
The Shahs love to party and party hard. Last season, viewers saw MJ deal with alleged drug and alcohol problems, leading to a falling out with Reza. The two have since which made up.
This season, we see conflict between Lily and MJ light up at Lily’s birthday party. MJ didn’t RSVP and called Lily the day before to say she was coming.
Lily shut her down and practically banned her from attending. This upset the whole group and this season we see the tension between the girls unravelling.
We also see Asa struggling once again with her diamond water, although I have no idea who the target audience is or what exactly makes diamond water diamond water.
Shahs of Sunset is a fun, glitzy show that is sure you make you laugh and scream at the TV.
Shahs of Sunset airs on Bravo Tuesday nights.
