The annual MarketPlace Santa Parade started off the festive season in Bermuda this evening.
Hundreds of locals lined the parade route, which included Bermudiana Road and the whole of Front Street.
The parade was kicked off by the Lions Club of Bermuda followed by Little Miss Paradise and many other entrants.
More than two dozen entrants were in the parade including beautiful Christmas themed floats and dancers.
Entrants included Building Blocks Preschool, Bermuda Inline Hockey Club, a float with Disney princesses, Miss Bermuda Catherine Arnfield, and various dance groups.
A standout was In Motion dancers with neon green light up hats and the Grinch Who Stole Christmas theme. The Grinch was on their float giving a naughty vibe to the performance.
Another standout was Rate Crew dancers with their up tempo reggae music and dancehall moves.
PHC Majorettes gave the parade a traditional Bermudian element as there are more dance groups than years past and less majorettes.
MarketPlace had quite a few floats from winter wonderland to Madagascar, Mickey Mouse, Despicable Me and more.
It seemed like Halloween all over again as the kids watching the parade were given tons of candy canes, lollipops and more.
The only downside of the parade was the amount of space in between some of the floats. At some points, one float would be a block up before the other had arrived.
Overall, the parade was a success. The music was family friendly, as were the dances. And it began on time and was finished within an hour and a half.
