As a parent, Friday nights can be tricky. If you don’t have a sitter, you need to do something family friendly.
But what if you want to go out and have a drink or two. Is there such a place where you can take your kid/s but still have a good time?
Kid-friendly happy hours may sound like an oxymoron, but they do exist.
There are places you can take your kids that are yes, kid-friendly but still have that happy hour vibe and more importantly, happy hour drink prices.
I promise you, no one will side-eye you when you show up with the little ones.
Ritas and Ribs
This happy hour is held inside the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo at Azu Beastro.
Manager Kay Whitworth said the event is held every Friday from 5:30pm to 9pm and is very kid-friendly.
“The happy hour is right near the kids playground and they can even go inside and look at the fish.
“There is a special kids price for children under nine, which is $14.
‘They can eat as much or as little as they like. We even have desserts for them including cupcakes, brownies and watermelon.”
But the night isn’t just for kids, adults are welcome to join for a buffet for $32.
The buffet includes chicken, ribs, steak, baked potatoes, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese and dessert.
There is also a full bar and a special margarita available for $7.
The Dock at Waterlot
A Friday evening at The Dock equals live music, fabulous cocktails and a beautiful sunset. While this event isn’t promoted as kid-friendly, children are welcome.
There is a tapas menu for adults and kids can partake in the kid’s menu from Waterlot.
My boyfriend and I took my son there in May and he had a great time.
He loved his grilled cheese and fries and got a kick out of the special drink they made for him – orange juice spike with a bit of Sprite.
I would say this is a place to take your kids only if they are well-behaved. No one wants to listen to kids screaming and running around at happy hour.
Tribe Road Kitchen
Tribe Road Kitchen welcomes well-behaved children at its happy hour events on Friday evenings.
While they aren’t promoted as kid-friendly, if your child promises not to run amock and scream the place down, they can come.
They are pizza and drink specials available.
Tribe Road will be offering special dinner and drinks nights in the Fall where families are more than welcome to attend, said owner Karsten Krivenko.
Pizza, lasagna, salads, desserts and appetizers will be
available. n
