Family members of a man gunned down near his home yesterday declined to comment about the 25-year-old, who has not been named, who was shot in the shoulder by a gunman at a house in Devonshire on Sunday night.
The man, whose identity is known to the Bermuda Sun, was rushed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after the shooting.
He was originally treated in the hospital’s intensive care unit, but is understood to be recovering from his ordeal.
Police originally said the man had been shot in the stomach — but later said the bullet wound was to the man’s shoulder.
The incident happened in the parish’s Alexandria Road at around 9:40pm on Friday.
Appealing for witnesses, a police spokesman said: “We cannot rule out that this incident is related to gang activity and as such we want the public to understand that we do not believe this to have been a random shooting. We are keen to speak with anyone that may have seen the suspect or suspects in the vicinity at the time of the shooting.”
The suspect may have been riding a dark-coloured or black scooter motorcycle, and left Alexandra Road, exiting onto Middle Road at the Fort Hill (ZBM) junction.
