The International Beach Tennis tournament got under way at Horseshoe Beach today.

 Team from across the world will vie for trophy rights on the island's sand over the next two days.

Games began this morning, and despite the occasional shower, the event attracted a good following.

This is the sixth year that the annual tournament has been held in Bermuda.

The Italians have dominated with five out of five victories and world champs Alex Mingozzi and Matteo Marighella have been crowned three times as champs in Bermuda and Alessandro Calbucci and his partner have won twice including 2012.
