Bermudian footballers get overseas scholarship
National Academy members Tyejae Burchal and Tahzeiko Harris are preparing to depart to attend South Kent School in Connecticut this fall.
South Kent is a prestigious school, both academically and athletically. They are five-time repeat champions and ranked number one in ESPN’s 2011 high school soccer rankings.
Burchal and Harris will be given a chance not only to compete with a high-level football programme, but also to further their education in an excellent school.
Todd said: “It is important to emphasize that this opportunity is not just about the football development, it is a chance for these young men to learn at a prestigious school.”
“This is the story of what football has been doing in Bermuda for our youngsters. Football is a means to an end and an opportunity to gain an education.”
