Our trip back in time in last week's Bermuda Sun newspaper to the 1989 FA Cup final (see 2nd picture) prompted an enthusiastic response from readers.

Therefore, we’re going to make it a weekly ‘Flashback’ feature.

So, after the thrills and spills of the Around the Island powerboat race, feast your eyes on the picture to the right.

Just for fun, we’re looking for stories behind the image and the people involved, the year and where the boat, called Ghost, finished in the traditional powerboat spectacle.

Simply email [email protected] with your memories from that day, or even just that era, and the best ones will be published in the Sun next Friday.

Thanks, and kudos, this past week goes to the following for identifying the names of the players in the last week’s ‘Flashback’ picture: Dwayne Trott, Denise Hollis, Kevin Mallory, Kevin Bailey, Michael Trott, Anthony Mouchette, Otis Nolan and Norris Dowling. Top of the class, though, has to be Mr Dowling, who sent in this lovely recap of the day.

“As a staunch ‘ North Villager’, that picture in last Friday’s Sun was the April 2, 1989 FA Cup Final at PHC Stadium, when NVCC defeated the League Champs PHC 2-1 a.e.t. to claim their third FA Cup of the ‘80s (and 4th overall).

“From left to right, pictured is Kentoine Jennings, PHC’s Kevin Dill and Kyle Lightbourne, Goater, Cornell Castle (it was his birthday that day) and Wendell “Woolly” Baxter.

“That game had special interest because it was the return of Shaun Goater from Manchester Utd. He had left in November for an extended six-month trial at Utd, and NVCC got permission to bring him home, as he had never been involved in an FA Final. He flew back to England that same night.

“Kacy Simons opened the scoring in extra time for NVCC and Frankie Ming equalized a minute later. Neil ‘Diamond’ Robinson won it in the 105th minute.

“The Village line-up that day, under Coach Andrew Bascome, was Dwayne ‘Streaker’ Adams in goal, Neil Robinson, Wendell Baxter, Kentoine Jennings, Cornell Castle, Haile Melakot, Kacy Simons, David Bascome, Damon Wade, Elliott Jennings, and of course ‘The Goat’.”

Keep the correspondence coming.
