Contest is over after clean sweep...
Contest III has won the Coronation Cup after three wins at the weekend gave them an unassailable lead in the Bermuda Fitted Dinghy Race series.
Peter Miller’s crew recorded three straight wins at Mangrove Bay to take the C.T. Fowle Cup, the 50th Anniversary Cup and the BMM Trophy in a dominant performance.
Elizabeth II, Contest’s closest competitor, claimed two second places and a third to remain in overall second spot.
Victory IV bagged a second and two thirds, while Challenger were last in all three races.
The next race day is on August 11 at St George’s Harbour.
Great Lakes joy for Larson
Royal Hamilton Dinghy Club sailor Adam Larson is making waves off island after a superb third with Team LOOT (Lake Ontario Optimist Team) in the Great Lakes Opti Championship in Cleveland.
Rear Commodore Neil Redburn said: “We’re really pleased a number of our junior sailors are competing through the summer in various locations, and in various boats.”
