National Coach Andrew Bascome took 36 players representing the Under-14 and Under-16 age groups, with the Under-16s winning their division.
The Open Cup, staged at the Jack Allen Soccer Complex, is a college showcase tournament that features over 240 teams from many US states and international teams.
Academy director Richard Todd was hugely encouraged by the teams’ performances.
He told the Bermuda Sun: “I was very, very pleased with the level of focus and discipline of the players and their response to the travel itinerary and protocol, which was a part of the education process.”
He added: “Also, just to see their response to the different styles of play was very encouraging.”
Shadow Minister for Sports Michael Weeks said: "Our young men represented their families and Bermuda impeccably in The Open Cup. In the face of international competition and away from the support of a home crowd, these fine young Bermudians showed everyone their character, strength and will to succeed."
He added: "We commend the players, national coach Andrew Bascome, Academy coaches Phillip Burgess, Don Vickers and Karl Roberts as well as Delegation Head Maceo Dill for this achievement."
Meanwhile, Larry Mussenden, president of the Bermuda Football Assocation, has been confirmed as chairman of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football’s (CONCACAF) Appeal Committee.
