Splendor juggles its schedule because of Wharf repairs

There’s plenty of action up at Dockyard this week as a string of cruise ships juggle to make the best use of one wharf.

The Carnival Splendor gets into the West End at 11am tomorrow morning and will dock at King’s Wharf.

She will then head out to sea on Friday night to make way for the arriving Explorer of the Seas.

The Splendor will stay just outside Bermudian waters for two nights before heading back into King’s Wharf again on Sunday.

The decision has been taken by Carnival so passengers do not have to be tendered into Dockyard while work is ongoing at Heritage Wharf.

However, earlier this week the Poesia dropped anchor just off the wharf at Grassy Bay and tendered her 2,500 passengers into Dockyard on Tuesday morning.

She stayed at anchor for the day before taking the Explorer of the Sea’s place when she left on Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile this morning the Voyager and her 400 passengers are due to arrive into Hamilton from the Bahamas for the day.

The Bermuda Islander is scheduled to get into the capital tomorrow while the Oleander should arrive on Sunday afternoon.

On Friday the car carrier, Eastern Highway, will deliver a small batch of cars to the docks.

Finally this weekend the Arundel Castle will make a brief stop at Five Fathom Hole to pick up spare parts for the ship on her trans-Atlantic voyage. n
