A 43-year-old man today admitted stealing $150 worth of meat from Lindo’s in Warwick.
Carlos Minors of Smith’s parish was caught red-handed with three pieces of tenderloin roast belonging to Lindo’s on Wednesday.
The court heard the manager of the store noticed there was meat missing from the shelf on April 9.
When he checked the cash register, there was no account for the meat as it hadn’t been purchased.
The manager was able to identify Minors on the CCTV.
Police officers came to Lindo’s at 11:47am after Minors attempted to leave the store.
He struggled with the manager and other workers. During the struggle, two pieces of the tenderloin fell from his jacket and he was arrested for theft.
Minors was taken to the Hamilton Police Station. When they arrived, officers saw another piece of meat on the floor of the car.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded him into custody for sentencing on April 26.
