Progress has been made regarding inquiries into recent reported burglaries; however members of the public should remain vigilant for suspicious activity or individuals in their neighbourhoods.

In particular, residents should be aware of unknown persons on motorcycles frequenting homes during the day. Take note of identifiable information such as the colour, make and license plate details of any suspicious vehicle as well as a description of the individual(s) involved.

We continue to recommend that all residents secure their homes before leaving them unoccupied, keeping cash and other valuables out of sight. By taking the appropriate precautions, the chances of becoming a burglary victim can be reduced.

Any suspicious activity should be reported at the earliest opportunity by contacting the nearest police station or calling the main police number 295-0011.

For additional information on how to make your home more secure, please contact the Crime Prevention Unit on 247-1746, the Crime Prevention Officer on 247-1278 or visit the official Bermuda Police Service website at www.bermudapolice.bm and under ‘Crime Prevention Info’ select the ‘Protecting Your Home’ link.
