Brown fronts up over clash... almost

Chris Brown has finally addressed allegations he got into an altercation with his bodyguard during a pit stop in Bermuda last month. Well, sort of.

He wasn’t giving too much away but it does seem clear he and the bodyguard — Big Pat — have patched up their differences. 

Brown was interviewed on a US radio station yesterday and when asked about the Bermuda incident, he implicitly confirmed that there was some kind of clash between the two: “Amongst black men, sometimes men aren’t always civil. We talk, we get loud, we say how we feel. We don’t fight. It’s family…” 

We exclusively reported on March 6 that Brown had stopped in Bermuda on his way back to LA from a concert in Ghana.

During the stop, his private jet was refuelled. But the jet left without one passenger — Big Pat.

A trusted source told us there was an altercation on board between Brown and Big Pat.

Our source also said the bodyguard left on Jet Blue’s afternoon flight to JFK instead of returning to the private jet. The incident went viral with newspapers, gossip websites and blogs in many parts of the world reporting our story.

We had contacted the LF Wade Airport and Brown’s PR representative for an explanation, but to no avail. Airport staff would only confirm that Brown was in Bermuda.

We had received confirmation for our story that Big Pat had in fact flew out on Jet Blue. What remained unclear was whether or not Big Pat had ditched Brown’s plane of his own volition or been jettisoned by Brown. 

The singer was giving little away on this point when he was interviewed yesterday on Power 105.1’s Breakfast Club in New York to promote his new single “Fine China”.

The radio show features DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne the God. During the 32-minute interview, he was asked about the alleged incident in Bermuda, among many other subjects. 

DJ Envy: “Now there was an incident, I guess TMZ reported that I think you were coming back from Bermuda and your security got off and they said that you jumped your security.”

Brown: “Nah, that didn’t happen. Pat’s with us. He with us. Everybody who thinks I fought my security, that’s not the case. Amongst black men, sometimes men aren’t always civil. We talk, we get loud, we say how we feel. We don’t fight. It’s family. So everybody’s brothers.  So ain’t nobody ever getting fired.”

Angela Yee: “So he didn’t get kicked off the plane?”

CB: “No, no, no. It was a little situation but it wasn’t nothing serious as far as OMG they’re just dysfunctional.”

Brown also addressed the recent Law and Order episode that was based on his relationship with singer Rihanna. The episode aired at the end of February.

Charlamagne the God: “Now the Law and Order episode that came out, did you see it?

CB: “Nah, I ain’t even watch it. Honestly, because I was like ‘should I watch it?’. Nah, I ain’t gonna. I know my ass would get right on Twitter and I didn’t wanna do that.”
