It's the one event that lacrosse lovers look forward to all year.

The Tri Nations Lacrosse Tournament is scheduled to take place this Sunday at Bermuda College.

This year will feature the first ever women's lacrosse game in Bermuda. In addition, some of the stars from the Bermuda Men's Under 19 World Championship team, which finished tied for second place in the division at the 2008 World Championships, will be on hand to help Bermuda try for its first championship in this event.

The Tri Nations tournament is an annual event put on by the Bermuda Lacrosse Association as a 'thank you' to family, friends, and sponsors from the previous year. The club is split into three teams representing players' nationalities: Bermuda, Canada, and the United States. The double elimination tournament is played until there is a winner and the champions receive all-important bragging rights for the following year.

The event kicks off at 10:30 am with the first ever Bermuda women's lacrosse game. The men's tournament will start at 11:15 am as Bermuda takes on Canada.
