England star Mark Cueto is gearing up for some ‘no holds barred’ rugby when he arrives in Bermuda next month to take on Saracens.

The Sale flier, who racked up more than 50 caps for his country, will join a host of international stars in the Bermuda Select XV side that will be looking to topple Saracens in the showpiece encounter.

Cueto told the Bermuda Sun he was confident his team had the talent to come out on top in the June 7 clash.

And the 34-year-old, who was also capped by the British and Irish Lions in 2005, said he was looking forward to visiting the local schools and helping youngsters hone their skills.

“It’s going to be a great occasion and we have a huge amount of talent in our side,” he said.

“It will obviously be amazing to see Bermuda for the first time and spend time with some old rugby friends.

“But when guys get on the rugby field I’m sure it will be no holds barred.

“We have a huge amount of talent in the side and there’s no reason we can not come out on top on the day.

“It’s an exciting prospect for sure.”

Cueto will join the likes of Nick Easter, Olly Barkley ,Shane Geraghty and Martin Castrogiovanni in the Select side, which will be lead by England hooker Lee Mears.

Recruit

He has also managed to recruit a couple of his club teammates; hooker Mark Jones and prop Eifion Lewis Roberts, for the trip too.

Meanhile the Saracens side could come to Bermuda as Heineken and Premiership champions if they win their next three games.

Opportunity

Cueto said: “A massive part of rugby is the camaraderie and the chance to visit Bermuda and play against one of the best teams in England is a great opportunity for all of us.

“Another big part is the work in the schools.

“A lot of clubs do a great deal of work in their local schools to help the sport grow, and I’m looking forward to taking that into the schools in Bermuda.

“An event like this has benefits for everyone involved, including the local community.

“I’m looking forward to it — it should be a fantastic experience.”
