Bermuda went down 33-6 to USA South in their NACRA's North Caribbean Championship match on Saturday.

The match got off to a tough start for the islanders after Neville Zuill was hit with a dangerous tackle and was forced off with concussion.

The USA South then drew first blood with a penalty, only for Bermuda to hit back with two Tommy Edwards penalties.

However, a missed tackle from Corey Boyce then saw the USA South #11 go over in the corner and the try was converted to make it 10-6 to USA South at half-time.

Ten minutes into the second half, the USA #11 made a 70-yard break to score a try, which was then converted.

And it got worse for Bermuda as USA South followed up with three unanswered penalties to take the score to 26-6.

USA South dangerman #11 then again caused havoc as the home side added another converted try.

A Bermuda Rugby spokesman said in a press release: “Bermuda did not give up at any point in the game and the scoreline does not reflect the actual game as Bermuda looked dangerous a couple of times and due to unforced errors could not finish.

“For the last two minutes of the game plus about three minutes of injury time, Bermuda was camped on the line of USA South but could not penetrate to get that first try they had worked so hard for all game.”
