God’s favour will find you at the right time

God’s favour will find you at the right time
God’s favour will find you at the right time

The story of Esther and Mordecai is one that clearly shows that God’s plan to save His people will manifest in spite of the hardships or times of adversity the people may face.

To see Esther as a young girl, one would not have considered that God was grooming her for such greatness. On the contrary, many would have concluded that she would not succeed in life.

If the statisticians of the day had their way, they would have studied her life and declared that she would fall through the cracks.

If the psychologists of her day had their way, they would have pre-diagnosed her to have a propensity towards having bipolar disorder. Bipolar disorder is also known as manic-depressive illness that causes shifts in your mood, energy and ability to function.

Legacy

If the educators of her day had their way, they might have said that given her family history and legacy she would only go so far up the academic ladder.

Yet, she had the favour of God upon her life and that favour cancelled out any natural or genetic tendencies that Esther might have had to fail.

Esther 8:1 On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews’ enemy unto Esther the queen. And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther had told what he was unto her.

2 And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.

Esther had, what I have termed, “a ring of favour”. A ring of favour is when you are blessed in spite of everything.

Google.com says, “Favour is an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual.”

The Online Oxford Dictionary says, “Favour is an attitude of approval or liking.”

Both definitions, and others, point to the fact that favour is something you could not or did not earn.

In other words, you are blessed in spite of yourself and in spite of your situation.

Favour is not what you have; it is who you are.

You can have little or next to nothing, but the innate grace that is upon your life will grant you favour. Favour is unearned.

It is given in spite of who you are or where you come from. Favour is not about what you deserve; it is about what God will serve you in spite of you.

Esther 8:5 And said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king’s provinces:

Esther was graced with favour. She had a ring of favour surrounding her life even when she was a poor, parentless child running around the streets of her neighbourhood.

If you looked at her and thought about her, you would have been sad for her, and yet, even at that point, God poured out favour upon this motherless and fatherless child.

Whatever you are going through that might be of great discouragement, the question becomes: “Are you in a relationship with God, your Heavenly Father?”

If you are, then you must know that at any moment it is possible for your situation to turn around. It is possible for you to be transformed through the process.

Tribulations

Either way, it is the loving favour of God that will bring you through your tests and tribulations.

Look at what favour did for Mordecai. It took him from the outside gate to the inside of the Governor’s House, from obscurity to notoriety, from sack cloth and ashes to marbles and linen sashes, from powerless to powerful, from voiceless to a voice full of power, from the humble place to the high place and from no ring to a ring of favour.

Mordecai ended up possessing all that Haman once owned. Why? Because God favoured him.

God turned a seemingly impossible situation around to demonstrate His grace and favour and to also save the lives of His people.

By the way, you do not have to look for favour.

God’s favour knows who you are and will find you at the appointed time. All you have to do is remain faithful to God. RESPICE FINEM.
