Sinclair Gibbons of St Georges was honoured as the winner of the weekly Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award.

Gibbons demonstrated sportsmanship in a game against Somerset when Somerset bowler Jacobi Robinson injured himself during his first over while attempting to field a ball. Robinson tried to bowl through the injury but eventually had to leave the field. Gibbons, deputizing as the St. George's captain, allowed Somerset to make a substitution, despite the fact that the Somerset team had not named any reserve players in their nominated team.

Despite their eventual defeat, Gibbons was hailed for his sportsmanship in allowing the substitution. “I hope I’m an example to the younger players coming through,” Gibbons said after receiving his award.

“I don’t think we’re playing that bad,” said Gibbons, addressing St Georges’ recent struggles. “We’ve just got a lot of youngsters, and we’re grooming them at the moment. Next year or even this year, we’re going to turn it around.

“I’m glad we’re in the Premier Division because the only way we can get better is by playing against good opposition. We’re just waiting for everybody to click on the right cylinders and then we’ll be good to go.”

Ryan Belboda of Southampton Rangers and Kijuan Franks of Flatts are the Logic Premier and First Division players of the week.

Belboda was a major part of the Ranger’s four wicket victory over Cleveland that has them sitting nicely at first place in the Logic 50 Overs Premier Division. Belboda took four wickets for 38 runs in the win.

Franks also played a large role in Flatt’s victory over Warwick, picking up 65 runs and taking three wickets for 30 runs.
