Well it came down to the wire and Germany won the World Cup. Like half of the rest of the sane world I sat and watched Argentina basically give this trophy away to the Germans.

To say I am vexed would be no stretch of the imagination.

The boys in blue missed at least seven sitters and open goals. God even gave them an extra 30 minutes and these guys allowed Germany to score via a super sub Mario seven  minutes away from the end of the second period of extra time

Argentina had the hopes and dreams of the entire South American continent riding on their victory. This came down to East versus West soccer. Every time they missed a goal, something broke in our hearts.

Oh, well, at least it went to show that Argentina is not Brazil. Now we can go into World Cup withdrawal for another 4 years.

Hot Hot Hot

Now this is the time of year that Bermudians separate their friends from their non-friends.

Now this is the time of year that wives and husbands start looking at each other with very slanted eyes whilst pointing to the couch.

Now this is the time of year that family feuds break out around the dinner table.

Yes, hallelujah! It is Cup Match time in Bermuda. The only thing that is more divisive than politics.

Well, let me again publically declare that I wear the Godly colours of blue and blue. That means I support Saintly George's Cricket Club

Most of my family support “Some-r-upset”. Therefore I will pray for them to come to their senses but I doubt it will happen.

They seem to have pretty much consigned themselves to wearing something red during the hottest months of the year. Pretty much indicates the IQ level it takes to be a Some-r-upset supporter.

Let me also state that I have nothing much to say to the following persons until we get our cup back:

n Michael Dunkley, JP, MP

n Jefferson Sousa, JP, MP

n Marc Bean, JP MP

n David Burt, JP, MP

n Senator Marc Daniels

n Paula Cox, CBE.

I do not care what your political affiliations are, if you are supporting Some-r-upset then you are on the wrong side of history.

For Cup match I will be hanging with Derrick Burgess, JP MP, and Craig Cannonier, JP, MP, wearing our blue and blue.

PS. Dear Some-r-upset: Before you hand back our cup, please use Brasso on the outside and disinfectant on the inside.
