The Bermuda Equestrian Federation has received confirmation from the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) — the sports’s governing body — that equestrian show jumper Jillian Terceira has reached the qualifying standard to participate in the World Equestrian Games to be held in Normandy, France at the end of August.

At a special qualifying competition held at the end of the Grand Prix events in Bonheiden, Belgium, last Sunday, Terceira  rode LAKVELS and incurred eight penalty points, while with TAMARINO she incurred four. These results were enough to enable her to obtain a certificate of capability as required by the FEI.

The course was built to maximum difficulty at a height of 1m 60 as prescribed and approved by the FEI. Terceira now has two horses from which she can choose one closer to the time of the Games.

The Games are held every four years and are the World Championships of equestrian sports.

This will be two-time Olympian Terceira’s  first World Championships and she  is looking forward to representing Bermuda again at a major festival.
