Dean Lightbourn won the roll off against David Maycock to take the men’s Bermuda Rendezvous title at Warwick Lanes. Michele Layton-Brown defeated American Dara Rimes to claim the women’s crown.

Both winners took home $400 and a Crisson’s watch.

The men’s stepladder roll off started off with Delmont Tucker facing Jermaine DeSilva. Tucker had earlier won the singles title with an 803 and pocketed $1,000 for his efforts. He beat DeSilva 222 to 189 before downing Levinc Samuels 213 to 183.

Lightbourn, who was runner-up in the singles competition with a 795 and earned $500 for his efforts, then downed Tucker by the slimmest of margins 203 to 202.

In the final, Lightbourn then had little trouble with Maycock with an emphatic 234 to 173 victory. Maycock won $200 for finishing second but was also the men’s optional scratch winner, which was worth $700.

In the women’s stepladder finals, Tiffany Caisey defeated Juanita Sharper 217 to 202. Caisey was also the top woman in the singles competition, finishing fourth overall.

Caisey then lost to Patrice Tucker 217 to 2o2. Tucker then fell to Layton Brown 207 to 196, which set up the final with Rimes. Earlier Rimes had teamed with Lightbourn to win the Doubles competition, which netted them $2,000.

Layton-Brown took the final in a competitive match 227 to 215.

Americans

The Department of Tourism presented a plaque to the top US female and male finishers who were Rimes with a 742 and Frederick Sharpless who rolled a 698.

Sharpless teamed with Blake Raynor to finish second in the doubles competition. The pair rolled a 1,460, just 19 pins behind Rimes and Lightbourn. They earned $1,000.

Third were Dennis Joell and Tiffany Caisey (1,447 and $500), fourth wrere Blake Raynor and David Maycock (1,445 and $300) while fifth went to Zurai Abbott and Delmont Tucker (1,442 and $200).

The women’s optional scratch top five were: Rimes (742 — $550), Layton-Brown (650 — $200), Tucker (639 — $120) and Sharper (623 — $70).

The men’s optional scratch top five were: Maycock (737 — $700), Lightbourn (735 — $300), Samuels (712 — $100), Tucker (707 — $100) and DeSilva (706 — $90).

Maycock’s score was also good enough to win the men’s high series handicap while Rimes took the ladies title.
