0ver $50K for young sports stars

Emereging cricket star Malachi Jones was one of 14 young people to share in over $50,000 for them to help hone their skills. The list:

Morgan Beckles, 11; Gymnastics; $4,000; Morgan will use the money to compete at an international competition with a coach and to bring in a judge and choreographer to help prepare for future events.

Noah Browne, 13; Squash; $3,400; Noah will use the money to attend the Dutch Junior Open and the Junior CASA Championship.

Rebecca Heyliger, 14; Swimming; $4,200; Rebecca will use the money to travel to Calgary, Alberta to train with Dave Johnson, to record her video sessions and for her accommodation at the National Championships in Canada.

Malachi Jones, 17; Cricket; $4,400; Malachi will use the money to attend MCC Indoor School in England.

David Lunn, Jr, 12; Triathlon; $2,000; David will use the money to attend a training camp at Club Lasanta in Lanzerote, Spain.

Jyire Mitchell, 9; Motocross; $4,964; Jyire will use the money to travel to three overseas events , to attend the Gary Bailey MX School in March of this year and to purchase a 2007 65cc KTM Stocked Bike.

Jasmine Patterson, 16; Field Hockey; $2,685; Jasmine will use the money to attend a training camp at the Seaford College Sports Facility and to purchase new equipment.

Mark Phillips, 17; Golf; $3,024; Mark will use the money to attend the Dave Pelz Short Game Golf School in July.

Cameron Pimental, 15; Sailing; $4,285; Cameron will use the money to assist with his training and preparation as he travels to the South American ILCA and the North American ISAF Grade I events.

Matthew Spring, 16; Track & Field; $3,988; Matthew will use the money to attend the Boston High Performance Meet and the 2007 New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a coach.

Travis Trott, 15; Football; $2,904; Travis will use the money to attend the Connecticut Soccer Academy.

Leonard Frederick Wade, 15; Tennis; $4,220; Freddie will use the money to attend the ITA High Performance Tennis Academy for two weeks, to purchase equipment and to pay for his airfare to and from Florida.

Stephanie Wilkinson, 16; Equestrianism; $2,778; Stephanie

Erica Woods, 15; Basketball; $3,154
