It's been another bumper crop of budding young superstar talent produced by local sporting organizations. It was a tough decision, but the Bermuda Sun has picked 10 young people who have had an outstanding year in their sport.
In theory, we easily could have had 15 make this list so many apologies to those who didn't make our final 10.
Below Don Burgess features those 10. You can vote for them three ways: 1) Online at the Bermuda Sun website at www.bermudasun.bm in the Sports section; 2) On Facebook at the Bermuda Sun fan page (just search for the Sun); or 3) send an e-mail to Don Burgess at dburgess@bermudasun.bm. You can vote one time at each location.
We'll announce the winner in January.
Next week we'll feature the our nominees for Female Sports Personality of the Year. The Male Sports Personality of the Year nominees will be announced in the January 6 issue of the Bermuda Sun.
Voting periods will be one week for each award.
The nominees JayLynn Hines
Equestrian
The 14-year-old represented Bermuda in Peru and won her age group at the invitational event. She also competed in Tennessee and in Santiago, Chile where she reached finals in group of 35. Jaylinn won numerous local events as well.
Aaron Evans
Track and field
He's the poster child for the invogorated Bermuda Track and Field Association. Aaron, 20, set the new junior indoor and outdoor record in the 800 and has a decent shot to qualify for the 2012 Olympics. Ran a 1:50.18 indoors this year. Evans added to his Carifta medal total by taking the silver in the 800m. Ran for Memphis University last season but is now enrolled at Georgia for his sophomore year/
Micah Franklin
Squash
Micah has come on strong and will be a future Bermuda champion. The youngster won the Caribbean Under-17 championships and didn't drop a set in the process. Won the Rubis handicapped tournament senior title. He won the Bermuda National Juionr Championships and finished in the final eight for the senior championships.
Terryn Fray
Cricket
Terryn captained the Under-19s at World Cup Qualifiers and gave a good account of himself with his tactics. He also made his senior debut versus Uganda at the Inter-Continental Cup.
Kaisey Griffith
Gymnastics
Kaisey added to her Islands Games legend where she was the most decorated athlete at the Aland Games. She won eight golds and a silver medal and a case could be made that she is the greatest gymnast in the history of the Island Games as she's won more than 20 meadls over the past three competitions.
Reggie Lambe
Football
Reggie is being touted as the next great footballer out of Bermuda. He signed his professional contract with the club this summer and the Ipswich Town player made his senior team debut in the Carling Cup.
Lambe will be highlighted as the Under-23 team takes on Trinidad over Christmas.
Dominique Mayho
Cyclist
In little over a year, this 16-year-old Berkeley student went from being a couch potato to representing Bermuda at the Junior Caribbean Cycling Championships. He didn't win a medal, but showed how far a young athlete can go in just a year's time.
Rebecca Sharpe
Swimming
Rebecca was the 'Golden Girl' for Bermuda at the Carifta Swimming Championships this summer. She ended the meet with three gold medals draped about her neck while writing her name into the record book three times as well.
She also qualified for the World Championships at Rome and has targeted the 2012 Olympics.
She'll do her collegiate swimming at the University of Toronto.
Alvin-ae Landy
Golf
The pint-sized eight-year-old won the Pepsi Little People's Golf Tournament in the U.S. by 10 strokes. Trains at Leo Custodio's golf academy. Along with her sister Al-shae, they are known as the up and comming Venus and Serena of golf.
Tyler Smith
Tennis
People have been raving about this tennis prodigy for years. She finally grabbed the headlines when she won the Caribbean Under-13 championships. She's been selected by the International Tennis Federation to take part in the ITF's Central American and Junior team next year.

I hope "Tom Healy" win's, as he has put in a massive effort, not only on the rugby pitch which as we all know he like to tell everyone but also for emailing the whole of Ireland asking them to vote for him....god loves a trier!!!!!!
