The Hogges keeper curse has struck again with super shot stopper Nigel Burgess injured in a bike accident this week.
Burgess made a string of point blank saves to inspire the Hogges to a 1-0 win over Richmond Kickers on Saturday night.
Burgess heroics, which had an increasingly vocal Hogges crowd chanting his name on Saturday, also earned him the more formal honour of being named USL 2 player of the week.
But he will be out of action for this weekend's double header against Wilmington Hammerheads, one of the early pace setters in the league, after suffering cuts and bruises in a bike accident on Monday.
With Timmy Figureido sidelined for the season with a cruciate ligament injury the Hogges are down, once again, to one keeper.
Coach Kyle Lightbourne said he had every confidence in Jason Williams to do the job between the posts.
But with two games in three days this weekend he is scrambling to sign up Southampton Rangers stopper Jason Smith on an emergency loan deal as cover for Williams.
Midfielder Keith Jennings has already had to stand in as keeper on one occasion this season and Lightbourne hopes he won't be required again.
"Losing Nigel is a major blow after his performance the other night.
"He kept us in the game at crucial times on Saturday and in that kind of form he is a big miss."
Lightbourne said Burgess' accident was not too serious and physio Daniel Morgan was monitoring his situation to see how long he would be on the sidelines.
"He's got some cuts and bruises and a sore ankle so we have to wait and see what the damage is," he added.
"We've already lost one keeper this season with Timmy's injury so we are looking for cover."
Lightbourne, who was delighted with his team's victory against one of the league heavyweights on Saturday, said the main aim now was to extend the Hogges unbeaten run through the weekend.
"Wilmington have had a great start and if we can come through a double header unbeaten then we'll consider that another step in the right direction," he added.
